P.J. Mechanical Corp. is a prominent New York City mechanical contractor providing top-notch heating and air conditioning systems for a long list of high profile projects and clients. Recent work includes infrastructure and interior retrofitting for the landmark Plaza Hotel; retrofitting for Yankee Stadium; new construction work on Citi Field, the new home of the New York Mets; and HVAC system work for the Arris Lofts, a luxury condominium project in Queens.

Peter J. Pappas founded P.J. Mechanical Corp. in 1971. In addition to building the firm from scratch and working on a long list of major building projects, Pappas has been a major contributor to the community. The list of charities and foundations that P.J. Mechanical Corp. has contributed to is almost as long as the list of building projects the firm has been involved in during the last 40 years.

Prominent recipients of P.J. Mechanical Corp’s generosity include the Bone Marrow Foundation, Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation International, Diabetes Research Institute Foundation, National Multiple Sclerosis Society, Albert Einstein College of Medicine, The Feinstein Institute for Medical Research, United Cerebral Palsy, Catholic Youth Organization, the Boy Scouts of America, the New York Institute of Technology, Renaissance Scholarship Fund, Natural Resources Defense Council, Habitat for Humanity International, and The Metropolitan Museum of Art.

Peter J. Pappas has been honored by the borough of Queens for service to the community and received similar citations of merit from the boroughs of Bronx and Brooklyn as well. Additionally, he received a certificate of appreciation from the Summit Children’s Residence Center for his contribution to a work-based learning program.
